Game two and Divisionals.(vs. Huntley "Project")

The game started out amazing for us. We won the jump, and Kristie went down and mad a quick 3 pointer. Then we scored two 2 pointers to make the score 7-0 with 7:17 left in the quarter. We kept scoring and the score was 15-0 with 3:35 left in the first quarter. Their first points were a 3 pointer that came from number ten, who would score most of their points. At the end of the first quarter it was 17-3. We kept getting lucky, and making our shots, while they kept getting unlucky and missing theirs. There were a lot of jump balls for us that could have been fouls with another referee. Kristie missed a buzzer beater 3 pointer and we ended the half 34-13. That was the best again that I have seen them play, even better than against Manhattan Christian. The opposing team started to play a lot better the next half. We also started to play a lot worse. they were starting to catch up at the end of the 3rd quarter. The score was 40-24. Kristie fouled out while they made the basket and the extra. Cassidy missed here two free throws from the fouls, and we were surprised. Huntley Project had an 8-0 scoring run, and they kept playing better. The game just kept getting worse. The score was 48-41 with 1:14 left to play. then they caught up even more and the score was 49-47 with 26 seconds left. We stepped it up a little, which was enough for us to pull out ahead, but it was really close, and if we have another game like that half we won't win the Championship, which is Saturday at 8:00. Another long day in Billings.

Snow.

Yesterday as we started to load the buses, it started to snow. It snowed quite a while, and when we were driving the weather was pretty nasty. It snowed some during the night, and now there are about 5-8 inches here in Columbus. We might not get to go to Billings to the mall, so we might just have to play Monopoly here at the Hotel. We are staying at the Super 8 in Columbus. Last night we played for the tournament and then we dropped off our stuff at the hotel. Then we went to the McDonald's, which is within walking distance from the hotel. It is probably100 yards away. The school paid for the meal, up to $7.00. I bought a three piece Chicken selects, but I couldn't eat them very well. It took me 15 minutes to eat just one. I also had a strawberry milkshake. When I was eating the chicken one of my stitches felt like it was coming out. Well anyway this isn't really about the tournament, but I am bored and there is a computer here so I will give you updates of the mundane events ever so often.

The First Divisional Game (vs. Broadus)

The game started at 6:30 on Thursday evening. We left school at 2:30 and arrived here in Columbus at about 5:30. I couldn't play today, but maybe by Saturday. (Hopefully) The game started slowly. Very slowly. The first points of the game was at 5:07. Cassidy made her two free throws. At the end of the first quarter it was 12-4. We played pretty sloppy and they were into bonus with 3:24 left in the second quarter. At the end of the first half the score was 21-13. Kristie had multiple bad passes in a row, and they started to catch up. Cassidy made two quick baskets due to Brittney's good inbounding. The third quarter went good, and we had a 9-0 point run to end the third quarter. The third quarter ended 35-19. They kept playing good, and we had double bonus to our advantage with 5:08 left in the game. They played good, but then got sloppy again, and then the Hawks started to catch up. We were too far ahead for their run to do much, so they didn't have much luck. We put our freshman and JV sophomore in with 1:50 left in the game. They wasted time and finished the game. It ended 55-42.

Stats:
Team totals: 15=2 pointers, 3=3pointers (all Cassidy), 17=fouls, and 16=free throws.
The high scorer was Kristie with 19 points made of 6= 2 pointers, and 7 free throws.
Cassidy had 3 =2pointers and 3 =3pointers and 2 freethrows.

Well anyway we won and the next game we play at will be at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow, so we will waste a lot of time.

Districts Championship

The game that was in Belgrade at 6:00 against Manhattan Christian, who was ranked first in our district.
The game started well, with us getting up, 13-4 after four minutes of playing. We played pretty well, and didn't have the normal gobs of turnovers. At the end of the first quarter the score was 23-13, but we had six fouls, which was only one away from bonus. Then, after we got 8 fouls, MCHS caught up and passed us with fouls. They started to play a little worse, but we were still ahead. At Half time the score was 41-28. Brittney made a layup buzzer shot to end the half. At the begining of the second half, Amanda Reed made a 3 pointer, followed shortly by another from Cassidy. They were still playing well. Kim Henderson (the C-squad/JV freshman) went in at the end of the third quarter. The score was then 65-37. At the begining of the fourth quarter, we started to play slopy, which was like all of the Whitehall Girls games that I had seen before that. We were still way ahead, so it didn't matter that we picked up even more fouls. MCHS took all of their Varsity players out, giving up, with 2:36 left in the game. Then we put our non-Varsity players in shortly after that. Hailey made a three pointer that was somewhat close to the end, and we crushed them 69-48 in the end.
Stats: Inorder fo scoring
Cassidy 6=two pointers, 3=3pointers, 2=fouls, and 3 freethrows for a total of 24 points.
Amanda 2=2pointers, 3=3pointers, 2=fouls, for a total of 13 points
Kristie 4=2pointers, 3=fouls(she finally didn't foul out) 5-freethrows, for a total of 13 points
Kellee 1=3pointer, 2=fouls, 9=freethrows for a total of 12 points
Hailey 1=3pointer, and one foul, for a total of 3 points
Megan 1=2pointer and a foul for a total of 2 points
Brittney 1=2pointer and 2 fouls for a total of 2 points
Bobbi 3=fouls for a total of 0 points
Team totals
14=2pointers
8=3pointers
17=freethrows
16=fouls
It was by far the best I have ever seen our girls play. They played like boys, by not passing bad all the time and shooting bad all the time. Too bad it wasn't exiting. We got a trophy thing for first place at districts. It was Amazing!!! I hope they play like that at divisionals.!!!..!!!....
The boys played in the consolation round, and went into over time against the second seeded Boulder. we lost in over time, but it was a very exiting game. Levi had 48 points in the game, partly because he was a ball hog, but he is by far the best on the team. It was like 72-68 or somithing like that.

Game 2 of Districts

Sorry, I would have posted this on the blog, but they updated their site and I couldn't log on for some reason. This game took place at Belgrade Event Center at 4:30. It was against THREE FORKS *Duh Duh Duh (In sucessively lower notes*.
The game started decently and we were up 4-0 4 minutes into the first quarter. Then we made two fouls on their shots, both of which happened to go in, and they made thier free throws making it 4-6. We made it to eight, then they outscored us 13-0 for the end of the first quarter and the begining of the second. We passed, shot, and shot 3-pointers badly, contributing to us being down at the half 13-25. The next half started off really well, with us being aggressive, but not so much as to get fouls, just to steal the ball. Then for about 5 minutes both teams made some and missed some, so they were still ahead by about the same. Kristie Baker then was fouled on her shot and made the free throw and the shot. This happened again and we started to catch up. Cassidy Wendell held the ball over her head while talking to Kerry, and the ball was stolen and they made an easy layup. We got the ball stolen again, but this time they missed and Cassidy got the rebound. They fouled Cassidy when we were in bonus, and she made both of her free throws. They did that again, so we passed them. We were ahead 33-32 with 3:37 left on the clock. Cassidy finally made a threepointer, and got fouled again, so we stayed ahead. Kristie fouled out(she does most of the time) ,but we won anyway. The final Score was 43-37.
Stats: Cassidy had 16 points and one foul. Kristie had 12 points and 5 fouls. Amanda had 9 points and 3 fouls. Bobbi had no points and 1 foul. Kellee had 6 points and 3 fouls( all in the first quarter). And Brittany had 2 fouls and no points. Our team made at least 75% of their free throws, and had a total of 15 free throws made and 15 fouls committed.
This win put them in the championship against Manhattan Christian at 6:00 Saturday evening.
The Boys lost by 4 points to Three Forks, and will now play in the losers bracket at 9:00 a.m., so we have to leave early for band. They will play Manhattan.

Well, I got it working some how!??!!?!?!

Game One: Girls Districts

Wednesday, February 18, 2009.

At Belgrade Event Center

Vs. Manhattan @ 4:30 p.m.

The game started and we had a pretty good lead. We scored first with a three pointer. The first score that I can remember was 12-3. At the end of the first quarter, Hailey Turk made a buzzer three pointer shot. This game I wasn't really paying attention, but next game I will have better stats. Cassidy Wendell had a pretty good game, but I'm not sure of the exact points. Kim Henderson (freshman) went in with 1:13 left in the 3rd quarter, and the other two C squad and Jv players went in in the fourth Quarter. Kim used her stealing abilities to get a chance at an easy layup, but she missed. She later made some points and Ashlei Huckaba (sophomore) did as well. We were ahead 50-27, but they caught up after we took out our Varsity players and ended with 55-43. We will now play Three Forks at 4:30 on Friday.

P.S. I like to do Blogs, and I will Keep you updated to all of the Whitehall Games that I attend. Also, nextime I will have some better numbers for you.
